So, Lolly hates football, but he sort of wanted to write a football song, so he decided to write about how much he didn't know anything about football, but as an abstract idea for a lyric that was harder than it seems, so he imagined a scenario where Bolton Wanderers paid him to write their new anthem and this is the result. A song about being asked to write a song about football despite not liking or knowing anything about football.
